For those who prefer flat, paved trails to steep rocky ones, Tahoe is home to road biking trails which make a great way to tour the area.
Lake Tahoe Trail
A paved bike path on the side of the road goes on and off around the full circumference of the lake. From Tahoe City, head along the North Shore toward Lake Forest Beach and Dollar Point — or point your handlebars down the West Shore, and take in the stunning lake views … even peek in on waterfront mansions as you ride by.

The 5-mile trail runs from Historic Truckee’s east end community of Glenshire, all the way down to downtown Truckee, following the Truckee River. Take a morning ride on the legacy trail, then bike over to Jax on the Tracks and treat yourself to brunch. (Their eggs benedict is a local favorite!)
