General Information
Reservation Requirements
A Guest Agreement will be emailed once your reservation is made. Your reservation is not guarenteed until we receive the signed contract, deposit and/or full payment and both have been acknowledged by Tahoe Vacation Rentals. All payment and cancellation policies go into effect at time of booking.
Cancellations
You may cancel your reservation 30 days or more prior to arrival without a cancellation fee. Cancellations made between 14-30 days of arrival will result in a 50% forfeiture. Cancellations made within 14 days will result in a full forfeiture.
We do not provide refunds to reservations that no one shows up to.
Deposits and Payments
The deposit is made up of fifty (50%) percent of the total rent due. Full payment is due 14 days prior to arrival. Full payment includes rent, taxes, damage waiver, and any processing fees.
Reservation Change Fee
All reservations that need a date and/or property changes are subject to a non-refundable $25 rescheduling fee per change. All changes must be made 30 days or more prior to the arrival date.
Damage Waiver
Tahoe Vacation Rentals charges a damage waiver in lieu of a security deposit. This damage waiver is non-refundable and covers up to $1000 in accidental damage. It does not cover intentional damage or destruction to the property.
Accepted Forms of Payment
We accept MasterCard and Visa.
Travel Insurance
Guests are at all times advised and encouraged to purchase Red Sky Travel Insurance through Tahoe Vacation Rentals.
No Smoking
Smoking is not allowed in or around any Tahoe Vacation Rental properties.
Age Requirements
The minimum rental age is 21 years or older.
Maximum Occupancy and Good Neighbor Policy
The maximum occupancy of your rental is defined by the county ordinances and listed in the property description. The max occupancy is 2 per bedroom, plus 2 and is strictly enforced by the county and subject to fees and penalties. Guests must not bring more people to the property beyond what is stated in the rental agreement, on the TVR website or any other site listing the property. Please be a good neighbor and respect the policies the county has put in place in regards to quiet hours, trash removal, parking, pets, and max occupancy. This information is in the description of the property your booking and being strictly enforced by the county.
Before Your Stay
Check-In and Check-Out
Check-in is at 4 p.m., and check-out is at 10 a.m. During holiday periods, check-in is at 5 p.m. If you are arriving later than 5 p.m., your check in information will be emailed to you. If you are interested in checking in early or departing late, please call us for availability and pricing.
Tahoe Vacation Rentals Provided Items
Tahoe Vacation Rentals will provide a starting supply of toilet tissue, paper towels, trash bags, dish soap, laundry detergent, dishwasher detergent, sponge and a basic supply of linens. Tahoe Vacation Rentals does not replenish supplies during your stay. We encourage you to plan accordingly. We do not provide shampoo and conditioner.
During Your Stay
Parking and Snow Removal
During winter, driveway snow removal is provided. Please be patient with plow drivers (they are vital to us all!) during severe storms, as they work hard to keep up with snow accumulation. Be sure you know the local laws regarding winter parking. Do not park on the street as you could get fined and/or be towed. Driving conditions may be hazardous as well. Please be prepared and take it slowly. Tahoe Vacation Rentals will shovel walkways, stairs and hot tubs on the day of arrival, but will not return during your stay.
Maintenance and Housekeeping
Our maintenance and housekeeping staff work hard to ensure your vacation home is in tip-top condition. If you should discover otherwise, please report it to us immediately and we will do our best to correct it as soon as possible. Immediately notify our office at 530-583-3550.
Pets
Dogs are welcome at ‘Pet-Friendly’ designated homes. Dogs or other pets are not permitted at non-pet friendly homes. There is a nonrefundable pet fee of $75 plus tax per pet. There can be no more than 3 pets in a household. This fee does not include damage or additional cleaning caused by the pet.
Guests must disclose if they are bringing dogs or pets to the property prior to making their reservation. A non-refundable per-pet fee of $300.00 will be charged if guests bring a pet to a non-pet friendly home, and guests will be asked to vacate the rental immediately.
After Your Stay
Cleaning
Each property will be inspected and cleaned after your departure. The cleaning fee paid to rent the home covers normal cleaning. Any excessive cleaning charges will be billed to the credit card on file.
Lost and Found
Tahoe Vacation Rentals is not responsible for forgotten or lost items. We will do our best to locate and return any lost or forgotten items. Items left behind may be shipped UPS or FedEx with a valid credit card from the guest. Left items will be held for 30 days, and then donated to a good cause.
